MUSIC AS MEDICINE
The Kim & Glen Campbell Foundation is advancing the use of music as medicine to alleviate depression, manage behaviors, and boost the immune system. Music has been shown to improve cognition and alter the brain chemistry associated with well-being and stress reduction. Research indicates that music can often augment or reduce the need for pharmacological interventions and improve the quality of life for people with cognitive impairment as well as their caregivers.
Kim Campbell was married to legendary country/pop star Glen Campbell for 34 years until his passing in August of 2017. Kim founded CareLiving.org to encourage caregivers to take care of themselves, and to improve the quality of life of families living with dementia and the Kim & Glen Campbell Foundation to advance the use of music as medicine to alleviate depression, manage behaviors, and boost the immune system.
